Nkwo, Wed. Apr. 08, 2020:
The ongoing COVID-19 (better known as Coronavirus Pandemic) isn’t a blessing by any stretch of the imagination. It is a problem and a curse any how you want to view it. There is no benefit to it. There are only death, grief, and trauma.
For Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie to tell his country that the Coronavirus Pandemic is a blessing in disguise shows how grossly uncommitted the 84 year-old Cardinal is to his Catholic flock and country.
In an article the Cardinal released last Saturday (2 days ago), he persuaded his country that the Coronavirus was a blessing because 1) it was forcing the federal government to become serious with the people’s clamour for the restructuring of the country.
Now, I won’t digress here to piece apart his own idea therein of restructuring. It’s up to Ndi Igbo and their fellow easterners to be responsible enough to read his fine prints there, and understand that Yoruba-Edo idea of restructuring is completely different from Igbo/eastern idea.
2) It is forcing legislators to donate or give up their salaries for the upkeep of the poor.
3) And it has exposed the fakeness and duplicitousness of his competitors—the dime-a-dozen Pentecostal pastors.
Well, Cardinal Okogie is lying. And he knows it.
None of the points he made supports his justification of a pandemic that has killed more than 70,000 people globally under roughly 6 months. A pandemic that is projected to kill at least 170,000 in a year.
In other words, the Cardinal is happy that millions of Nigerians are starving and facing death as a price to get President Buhari to stop playing Islamo-Fulani games and govern. That is downright gross of Anthony Olubunmi Okogie.
Clearly, Anthony Olubunmi Okogie (with his adopted ethno-political base) is against Restructuring and for the status quo. In his write up, he tries to convince us in a roundabout way that all Nigeria needs to be perfect is to tweak the Buhari junta.
Well, we are not buying your lie, Cardinal.
And by the way, your effort to convince us that only the legislature is stealing, cannot fly. To you, President Muhammadu Buhari and his henchmen are saints and the elected lawmakers alone are the sinners. Again, spare us your sermons. Tell them to your loved ones.
Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie isn’t holier than the legislators. When was the last time he reached out to his fellow Catholic leaders across the country for the betterment of the country and healing of the church and her hostess the country?
Never! Rather to churn out public relation hit jobs for Islam-fascists has been the calling of Rev. Okogie since the war broke out right after his ordination as a Rev. Fr. at the end of 1966.
Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie, give it up now to make heaven!
